The Community Foundation is pleased to announce The Blessings in a Backpack Frederick Fund which will provide grants supporting the activities of Blessings in a Backpack. The fund was created by Melissa Sciolino Frank (left), Hermine Bernstein (center) and Barbara Dillon (right). This organization provides hundreds of food packs each weekend to children in 17 different Frederick County schools to ensure no child goes hungry. Want to help? In 1992, the Community Foundation honored Charles “Charlie” A. Nicodemus, past chairman of the board for a lifetime of service at a reception held for donors at the then F&M Bank. Charlie is flanked on the left by Charles W. Hoff, III, then president of F&M Bank and also a former Community Foundation chairman, and F. Lawrence Silbernagle, Community Foundation chairman at the time. Charlie continues to serve his community to this day!
